My story

“I never dreamed of becoming a massage therapist. The path unfolded before me.”

A series of divinely-led moments, follow this thread, follow that thread. I was drawn toward this work long before I understood why. Here's how I found it, and how I hold the door for you.

Before

A seed, planted quietly.

For ten years I managed a store at Starbucks, and it was anti-everything I believed at my core. I was anti-establishment, and there I was, working for the man. My health pulled hard at my attention. I started studying herbs on my own, and planted a garden out of pots in my backyard.

Gardening is one of the ways I come home to nature, and it quietly informs all of my work. We are nature.

The turn

One open slot, and a door swung wide.

My plan was a master's in nutrition. But when I toured the school I was appalled. The whole structure went against everything I knew to be true for myself. That night I thought: I'm curious about that massage school. There was a school not far from me with one open slot; someone had just dropped out. It was called A New Beginning.

My family said, “what are you doing? You don't like being touched.” I signed up on the spot. It just felt divinely orchestrated.

The calling

It felt like a symphony.

I injured my foot in training, and my instructor worked on it with something outside the curriculum: myofascial release. I found it came so easily to me: I could feel the subtle rhythms playing through the tissue. It made me endlessly curious about how the body actually works, and it was deeply humbling. Massage school gave me more than technique. It taught me how to establish energetic boundaries, how to feel safe in my own body, and how to hold space for someone else's. Those lessons are part of everything I do.

“Fascia is everything. It conducts the light through our bodies. It's where our light lives, where the soul is really moving through.”

Sound finds me

The synchronicity that made me commit.

Sound came slowly: singing bowls first, then a book, Tuning the Human Biofield, by Eileen McKusick. I bought my first forks years before I trained. When I hesitated on the training, a Vespa accident and a concussion left me unable to bear sound or vibration at all.

“The cost to repair the car I hit was the same, almost to the dollar, as the training I'd been avoiding. Either way, I was learning.”

Home ground

My own proof

I didn't need to rely on anyone but myself.

Years earlier, doctors told me I had multiple autoimmune diseases. Vial after vial of blood, and no answers, until a rheumatologist wanted still more, and I walked out. I went into a deep dive of working with myself, figuring out what I needed. It taught me that the body is always hard at work to keep you alive.

Years later, a doctor told me: “you're all clear.” Whatever that was is gone. And I didn't need to rely on anyone except for myself.

What I believe

The ground I stand on.

I believe in the body's innate healing wisdom.
When we apply too much force, resistance is inevitable. The “no pain, no gain” thing needs to die.
We're 99% water by molecular weight. We're not a meat suit, and your body is always mirroring what's going on around you.
Coherence is being able to tap into your body's own energy, without sourcing anyone else's.
I'm not a healer. I'm a self-healer, just as you are. You cultivate your own soil. I help pull the weeds and find the root.
